Playing basketball has many benefits. One of the main benefits is the ability to easily make friends. Especially in childhood, children who play basketball instantly make friends while on the court. These friendships often lost a lifetime.

The second benefit of playing basketball is staying active. Basketball is a very fast paced sport, and is healthy for cardiovascular health. Basketball is also great for one's mental health. Basketball is a game that must be played in the moment, thus it's a very mindful sport as you don't have the ability to think about other things other than the game itself.

A third benefit of playing basketball is being a part of the basketball community. Basketball players typically become friends and form a community. These friends will often get together several times per week, and enjoy each other's company while also playing the game of basketball.

Basketball is a game that is played for life. You'll often find 70 or 80 year old adults playing basketball at the local gym.

As an adult there are adult leagues, gyms (LA fitness) or you could play pick up basketball, even at work. Oftentimes a person's career can be enhanced by being able to play basketball.

What's great about basketball is just a pair of shoes and a ball is required. It is not an expensive sports. These are great reasons to get your child involved in basketball at an early age.
