Basketball Education

At Maple Basketball, we provide advanced basketball education that starts with fundamental skills and progresses to college-level concepts.

Basketball Fundamentals

Maple emphasizes proper basketball fundamentals.  We especially focus on shooting, where we have identified and teach 25 points to shooting a basketball correctly!  Our coaches maximize players performance by instilling a strong foundation in:  Shooting, Ball Handling, Foot Work, Layups, Post Moves, Passing, and Triple Threat Positions.

Team Systems

Maple's offensive system is based on position-less basketball.  We teach players to continuously move without the ball,  cut to the basket, and pass between players, until a good shot opportunity presents itself. Some of the concepts in our curriculum include: Pass and Cut, Pass and Screen Away, Backdoor Cut, Laker Cut, Weakside Drift, and Pin and Skip .

On defense, players will learn the foundations of defensive techniques, man to man, shell, and zone defense.  In the later rep years, players will learn to press and trap opponents.  They will also learn to break other teams press.

Basketball Homework

Players are assigned basketball videos to watch at home.  Each video has an accompanying homework assignment.  Homework helps reinforce the concepts learnt during practices.

Maple uses every advantage to improve players performance on the court.  We take pride in teaching the game of basketball properly.

Team Conditioning

Players can expect to start running from the first day of practice.  Conditioning is also incorporated into customized basketball drills created by Maple coaches.

Track Progress

Maple Basketball's system ensures complete player development.  Team progress is tracked with quarterly evaluations.
